The EU's Erasmus+ initiative helps youth, sport, education, and training throughout Europe.
Its budget is projected to be €26.2 billion. The financing for this program is almost twice as much as that of its predecessor (2014-2020).
The 2021–2027 program is heavily focused on improving youth engagement in democratic life, social inclusion, and the green and digital transitions.
The European Skills Agenda, the Digital Education Action Plan, and the European Education Area's aims and initiatives are all supported by it. These include;
- Implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027
- Develops the European dimension in sport
- supports the European Pillar of Social Rights
ERASMUS+ PROGRAM AT KAMPALA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY(KIU)
KIU won an education mobility grant from Erasmus for Students and staff exchange in a European Union University. As such, KIU students and staff will move to one European Union University called Ondukuz Mayis University (OMU) in Turkey. This exchange program is to go on for 5 years and each year 10 students and 10 staff members will move to OMU to study and teach or do research for six months and 2 to 6 weeks respectively. Students who qualify for this mobility opportunity are those from Medicine & Surgery, Pharmacy, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Law, Business Administration, Economics and Education (sciences and Fine Art only).
